The 25 Weirdest Foods in America

There are foods that many people internationally find distasteful or even just completely odd that Americans eat. I’m sure there are foods that we, Americans, find odd that they eat as well, but I was curious what were the top twenty-five weirdest foods are that Americans eat.

Here is the top twenty-five that not only do our international friends not understand, but we should probably think twice about.

Chicken-Fried Steak

Chicken-Fried Steak is one of those foods. To be honest it’s just a steak that’s fried with bread and covered or smothered in high-fat gravy. While it’s pretty darn tasty you have to admit it is a little weird. There is no chicken in it. Why even call it Chicken-Fried Steak? Why not just fried steak and gravy? I mean…Good Gravy!

Twinkies. I’m not sure why this one is weird or why it is even odd to our international friends. It’s a delicious dessert of sponge cake shaped like a tube with a cream filling. Okay, I guess it’s a bit odd when I put it that way, but I think what truly makes it weird is the fact Twinkies never age. All those preservatives. Yummy…

Tator-Tot Casserole

Tator-Tot Casserole is another weird food. It’s not just the name of it that sounds weird but why are Americans so infatuated with tots? They are odd bits of mashed hatched potatoes. I mean Napoleon Dynamite is a great movie, but I’m a little over the tots. They are totes weird.

Spray Cheese

Spray Cheese. Chemical cheese is just plain weird no matter how you try to spin it.

Peanuts in Cola

Peanuts and Coca-Cola is weird even by my standards. I don’t get it either and I never will try it. Yes, people literally put peanuts in Coke (the drink.)
